The Chairman of the Public Services United Nurses Union Venerable Muruththettuwe Ananda Thero requests his union members not to join demonstrations and protests that would denigrate the honour of the nursing service. The venerable Thero says that his union presented several demands relating to unsold problems of the nursing staff and discussions in this regard were held under the Chairmanship of the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance Dr. P.B. Jayasundara on the 1st of this month.  The venerable Thero issuing a press release states that on that day itself economic solutions were provided to many of the demands and none of the demands were rejected. The press release says that the Treasury Secretary issued instructions to the relevant officials at that moment itself to issue the relevant circulars within this month. The venerable Thero points out that in a situation like this certain unions are holding protests and demonstration merely to show that these solutions have been obtained by them. Therefore, he requests the nursing staff not to join these protests and demonstrations and thereby inconvenience the innocent patients
